The purpose of learning

I have never think about the purpose of learning before, so far I just listen to what the teacher says or write on the board and then try to remember all of them. Recently I see some students like me, but they have some projects to promote the development of rural areas like northwest of Vietnam. They have learned, but then they use their knowledge to contribute to the development of their community.
I have spent over 15 years of learning, but, my contribution to the community is zero. I am just learning and do nothing. I think that there is the time that I need to change my mind, I was a passive person, but It's not true anymore, I changed. I think the purpose of learning is to share, to apply the knowledge into life, to help the community.
I was born in a rural area of the central high land of Vietnam, my childhood was really difficult, my journey to school is not a straight line, I was lack of both physical and mental value. When I was born in a place like that, my opportunity to learning is small, I am just one of a few people who very lucky to get to the university. Now I have learned a lot of, this is the time that I have to do something. I have to something to help children like me got a chance to education, in this way, help them create a brighter future.
