2025 Year End Review
Today is December 28, the last Sunday of the year. It's time to sit down and reflect on what I have accomplished in the year.
I've suffered from sinusitis for over a decade, and it causes countless inconveniences in my life, affecting my job directly. After a long time receiving the treatment, but the symptoms didn't get better, my doctor advised me to get surgery. At that time, I was so tired of being limited by my sinusitis that I decided to take action. It has been 6 months after the surgery, and I feel very well. The surgery was successful, but I am still closely monitoring it.
Thanks for the surgery; my health is now capable of a trip to Ha Giang, as it's very cold. I had a dream about that trip, and I made it happen. It was amazing, the most wonderful trip I've ever had in my life. I spent four days driving a motorbike alone. I've seen many mountains, experienced magnificent scenery, and braved the cold, which reached a temperature of 6 degrees Celsius. I've also met native people and tried their traditional food. I have so much memory; I miss Ha Giang so much. Before leaving Ha Giang, I had a thought that I would return with my girlfriend or fiancée.
After spending 4 days in Ha Giang, I spent 4 more days in Hanoi. I visited Hanoi once when I was in high school, so it was a long time ago. I didn't come to Ha Noi at the right time. The weather is cool, but the air is so polluted; the sky is foggy all day, and the fog is made of fine dust, not steam. I visited some historical sites and famous places with a friend, and actually, those are the things I've done in Ha Noi. I've tried some signature dishes, and they're okay.
So, that was two big things I have completed this year; I'm really proud of them.
Back to my study and career. I am still diving deep into the database.e I'm taking a database course from CMU on YouTube, which is excellent as it provides a lot of in-depth understanding of the database.
In my career, I feel stuck at the moment. What am I gonna be in the next few years? My current job is fine, but I am not happy with it as it lacks technical challenges. I often feel like I wasn't born at the right time; the market is still cold, and there aren't many opportunities available right now.
I would like to add that this year, I attempted to gain a few more experiences, like playing chess, learning Japanese, and watching anime.
